When you put this in perspective with how huge the mobile computing market is relative to fixed position computing (i.e., home or office), this is an extremely valuable position for Apple. They’ve never been able to hold a materially significant position in the latter so for them to be a very significant player in the mobile phone market – as well as now dominate the tablet market – is a critical turn of the tide.
That said, it would be my expectation that Apple will need to add a file system to the iPad before any business users will take it very seriously.
