4.9 million (4,900,000)
Yesterday my former colleagues at Nielsen released their “State of the Media: Consumer Usage Report” for 2011 which has a decidedly U.S. focus. During the first week of November Nielsen released an infographic triptych that in hindsight was an excellent preview for this report. Below are the key pages (one above and three below) from the report which breaks the observations into four sections:
- The U.S. Media Universe (and the source of today’s statistic, the number of households with broadcast TV and paid broadband Internet access – a scenario I can’t quite understand unless you absolutely hate watching anything with a reasonable production value on TV, but I digress)
- The American Video Viewer
- The Seeking, Searching U.S. Consumer
- The Globally Connected Consumer
This brief study is chock full of data-driven insights, so make certain you dig into each page. The full report can be found here.
