What is a brand worth?

Well, if you are Google, Apple, or any of the other top 20 most valuable global brands it is almost certainly your most valuable single asset.  In fact, the total value of the top 20 global brands – factoring in strength, risk, and future potential – is greater than $588 billion or an average of just over $29.4 billion.  Google, Apple, and Microsoft dominated the top three with a combined value exceeding $126 billion according to the annual study by London-based Brand Finance.

The United States overwhelming led the world with 14 of the top 20 global brands while Britain (3), Japan (1), South Korea (1), and Spain (1) rounded out the rest of the list.
